Al Serra is the patriarch of our auto dealership organization. He believes in providing service and value for customers, and insists that all dealerships bearing the Serra name must do the same.
Al started in the car business almost 50 years ago. When he returned from military service after WWII, he got a job at a dealership in Michigan as a car salesman. After a short time, he was promoted to sales manager, and worked in that position for a couple of different dealerships.
He finally bought a dealership of his own in 1966, and named it Al Serra Chevrolet. It was a little storefront location in Grand Blanc, Michigan with barely enough space in the showroom for one car.
Don Pascoe, President of the Miamisburg, Ohio Serra Chevrolet dealership, says he remembers walking by that dealership as a boy, on his way to and from school every day. The Al Serra Chevrolet dealership in Grand Blanc, Michigan is still operating, although they've expanded from their one-car showroom…and is now one of the very largest Chevrolet dealerships in the entire nation.
Serra Chevrolet has a long history of serving people here in the Miamisburg and Dayton, Ohio area, as well.
The Miamisburg dealership originally started as Lockner Chevrolet in the 1940's. It was a very customer-oriented dealership located right in downtown Miamisburg. Then in 1965, when Mr. Lackner retired, the dealership was purchased by Ted Finke and Frank Jeske, and renamed Finke-Jeske Chevrolet. At that time, they needed to increase the size of the lot and update the service area – so they relocated to our current address. When Finke & Jeske retired, they sold it to the Serra dealership system in 1985.
The Serra organization has grown over the years, and is now made up of 26 dealerships across the country: 
ranging from California to Georgia … from Colorado to Michigan…and, of course, right here in Ohio. Even with this phenomenal growth, the original commitment to service, customer satisfaction, and providing value for customers is still the foundation of every dealership in the nationwide Serra system.
